Wednesday, June 14, Mr. Yoichi Ito, Chief, The Science and Technology Policy Bureau of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and its seven members came to Innovation Center of NanoMedicine (iCONM) and visited Center of Open Innovation Network for Smart Health (COINS).
Dr. Hiromichi Kimura, Project Leader of COINS explained the future direction in an aging society with a declining birthrate in Japan and the overview of COINS (research project). Then, Dr. Kazunori Kataoka, Research Leader of COINS and representatives of COINS’ participating research institutions – Nikon Corporation, Ajinomoto Co., Inc. and Braizon Therapeutics Inc. explained the research outline of COINS. Afterwards, Mr. Hirokazu Iwasaki, Research Promotion Leader introduced the outline of iCONM.
In the end of the schedule, a lab. Tour and a reception were organized and active discussions were made during the event as well.
