One of the venture companies “SONIRE Therapeutics Inc.” concludes a business alliance with Hirata Corporation in development of device for treatment of pancreatic cancer.

On January 18, 2021, one of the venture companies “SONIRE Therapeutics Inc.” concluded a business alliance with Hirata Corporation in development and manufacture of Focused ultrasound medical treatment device.
Cancer treatment using focused ultrasound waves enhances the anticancer effect by irradiating the anticancer drug accumulated in the affected area with focused ultrasound waves. Clinical trials for pancreatic cancer are currently underway.
This treatment is a non-invasive treatment that does not need to perform an operation and reduces the physical burden on the patient.
Hirata Corporation has the developed technologies of medical robots, and by integrating the know-how of both companies, it is expected to develop advanced focused ultrasound medical treatment device further.
