The 9th General Meeting was held in the main conference room at the Life Science & Environment Research Center (LiSE) on Thursday, January 25, 2018. This meeting is held semi-annually with participation of all participating institutions.
Next year will be the last year of Phase 2 (Fiscal year 2016 – 2018). Towards the realization of in-body hospitals, we divided to the meeting to six topics and had presentation with awareness of differentiation and superiority from existing technology. We confirmed the progress of present plan of this year and next year's plan for phase 3. In panel discussion, we discussed the tasks towards social implementation.
In oral session, under the title "Establishment of center at Tonomachi International Strategic Zone King SkyFront, the vision of the surrounding area was introduced by Mr. Shigeyuki Shiratori, Director of International Strategy Promotion, Coastal Area International Strategy Headquarters, Kawasaki City, and the history and the facilities were introduced by Mr. Haruhiro Okuda, Vice-Director of the National Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS). He talked about the expectation for collaboration.
Furthermore, Mr. Toru Tanaka, Executive Vice President of SBI Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. Introduce his company which has just started to use the facilities of iCONM.
In poster session, there were 34 presentations and very active discussions were carried out among the researchers. Finally, Prof. Tatsuro Irimura, Juntendo University, Mr. Hiroshi Misawa, Medical Technology Association of Japan and Mr. Haruhiko Manabe, JST gave us feedback. The meeting was very productive to further strengthen the tie of the researchers.
